These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the MTCHMKR platform, including the mobile application (iOS and Android), the website (mtchmkr.co.uk), and all related services. The Platform is operated by MTCHMKR LTD, registered in England and Wales under company number 13955219, whose registered office is at 13-17 High Beech Road, Loughton, Essex, IG10 4BN. By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Platform in any way, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Agreement in full. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
Section 01
In this Agreement, the following terms have the meanings set out below:
Section 02
2.1 Age Requirements
The Platform is available to users aged 13 and over. Users aged 13–17 may only use the Platform with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By creating an Account, you confirm that you meet the applicable age requirements. MTCHMKR reserves the right to request age verification at any time and to suspend or terminate Accounts where eligibility cannot be confirmed.
2.2 Registration
To access the majority of the Platform's features, you must register for an Account using a valid email address, which must be verified before your Account becomes active. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep it updated at all times.
2.3 Account Security
You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Account credentials and for all activity under your Account. You must notify us immediately at support@mtchmkr.co.uk if you suspect any unauthorised use or security breach. MTCHMKR will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this obligation.
2.4 Account Names & Profiles
Display names must be a genuine first name and surname, or a recognised sporting nickname. Display names consisting of email addresses, random characters, offensive language, or impersonations of others are prohibited. Profile photographs must be a clear image of the account holder and must not contain offensive, indecent, or misleading content.
2.5 One Account Per Person
You may only hold one Account on the Platform. Creating multiple Accounts is prohibited. MTCHMKR reserves the right to merge or terminate duplicate Accounts and to disqualify any match or tournament results associated with them.
Section 03
3.1 Permitted Use
The Platform is provided to enable pool, snooker, and 9-ball players to connect, arrange and record matches, participate in tournaments and leagues, and engage with the broader cue sports community. All use must be for this purpose and in accordance with this Agreement.

You agree not to post a Match request unless you have already secured, or are in a position to secure, the necessary venue booking. You are responsible for ensuring that all information in your Match request is accurate. Hosts bear sole responsibility for all venue booking arrangements and any associated costs.
Section 04
4.1 Self-Certification
Upon registering, you will be asked to self-certify your playing ability on a 1–5 Star Rating scale, where 5 represents the highest level and 1 represents a beginner. This rating is used by the Platform to suggest suitable match opponents and to apply handicaps where appropriate.
4.2 Automatic Adjustments
Your Star Rating will be automatically adjusted following each match, based on your most recent five results. This process is automated and MTCHMKR does not manually intervene in individual rating adjustments except where manipulation or abuse is detected.
4.3 Handicap System
To promote competitive balance, the Platform applies a head start system to the lower-rated player, based on the Star Rating difference and the match length (race to how many frames). The applicable head starts are as follows:

Capping rule: The handicap is capped at (frames to win − 1) to ensure a minimum of 1 frame is always played. For example, in a Race to 2, the maximum head start is 1 frame regardless of the Star Rating difference.
4.4 Match Formats
Matches may be proposed as Play Now (immediate availability) or Play Later (scheduled for a future time). Once accepted by both parties, the match will appear in each player's diary and the in-app scorecard will become available. If a Match request is declined or goes unanswered, it may be listed in the Showcase section for other users to accept.
4.5 Scorecard & Results
Upon completion of a Match, both players are responsible for accurately recording and submitting the final score through the in-app scorecard. Submitted scores will contribute to Star Rating adjustments. MTCHMKR does not independently verify submitted scores. Disputes must be raised with the other player in the first instance. MTCHMKR may at its sole discretion investigate disputes but is not obligated to reverse submitted results.
4.6 Reopening Matches
If a Match is accidentally closed before the score is submitted, the Host may request to reopen it through the relevant in-app functionality. MTCHMKR reserves the right to decline requests where it determines they are not genuine or where the score has already been confirmed.
Section 05
5.1 Tournament Formats
The Platform supports Knockout (KO), Champions League, and Double Elimination formats. All tournament brackets are generated automatically by the Platform upon commencement. Tournaments involving prize funds require prior approval from MTCHMKR before being published.
5.2 League Formats
The Platform supports multi-round league formats including double round-robin with home and away fixtures. Match scheduling uses a proposal system whereby the home player proposes three available times and the away player accepts one or proposes alternatives. MTCHMKR is not responsible for scheduling failures arising from a failure by either party to respond within a reasonable time.
5.3 Rules & Conduct
All participants must comply with the rules published by the Tournament or League organiser. MTCHMKR is not responsible for the conduct of third-party organisers. By entering a Tournament or League, you agree to its published rules in addition to this Agreement.
5.4 Notifications
Push notifications will be sent automatically as matches progress. It is your responsibility to ensure push notifications are enabled on your device. MTCHMKR will not be liable for any loss or disadvantage arising from a failure to receive or act upon a push notification.
5.5 Duplicate Tournament Settings
Where a Tournament is duplicated within the Platform, all prize distribution settings will be copied from the original configuration. You are responsible for reviewing and confirming all settings before publishing a duplicated Tournament.
Section 06
6.1 Match Chat
Players in an active Match have access to an in-app messaging feature to communicate about logistics. This feature must not be used for any other purpose.
6.2 Tournament & League Group Chat
All participants in a Tournament or League are placed in a shared group chat for the duration of that event. This must be used in accordance with the conduct standards set out in this Agreement.
6.3 Acceptable Use
All in-app communications must be conducted respectfully and courteously. Harassment, abuse, threats, discrimination, or offensive language is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate suspension or permanent termination of your Account. MTCHMKR reserves the right to monitor in-app communications for the purpose of enforcing this Agreement, subject to our Privacy Policy.
6.4 Broadcast Messages
MTCHMKR may send broadcast messages to all users or defined segments regarding Platform announcements, new features, tournaments, and other relevant information. By registering for an Account, you consent to receive such communications.
Section 07
7.1 Interactive Map
The Platform includes an interactive map displaying Venue locations with pool, snooker, and 9-ball tables across the United Kingdom. Venue information is submitted by Venue operators and is not independently verified by MTCHMKR. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any Venue listing.
7.2 Venue Responsibility
All bookings, table fees, and cancellation charges at any Venue are entirely the responsibility of the Host. MTCHMKR acts solely as a technology platform and does not make bookings on your behalf. You agree not to hold MTCHMKR responsible for the conduct, policies, or conditions of any Venue.
7.3 Club Partnerships
Club partners who register their Venue on the Platform agree to promote the Platform to their members and to keep their Venue information accurate and up to date. MTCHMKR reserves the right to remove any Venue listing at any time without notice. Club partners are not agents of MTCHMKR.
Section 08
8.1 General Conduct
All users must conduct themselves in accordance with the standards expected at a professional cue sports venue — keeping noise to a minimum during play, not distracting your opponent during their shot, and treating all other users, Venue staff, and bystanders with courtesy and respect at all times.
8.2 Prohibited Behaviour
The following conduct is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate suspension or permanent termination of your Account, and may be reported to the relevant authorities:
8.3 Cancellations
If you are unable to attend a confirmed Match, you must notify your opponent as soon as reasonably practicable using the Platform's messaging feature. Repeated failure to attend confirmed Matches without notice may result in account restrictions or termination.
8.4 Lateness
If you arrive more than 30 minutes after the agreed Match start time without prior notification and agreement from your opponent, the Match will be forfeited and awarded to your opponent.
8.5 Inherent Risks
You acknowledge that participation in physical sporting activities carries inherent risks, including but not limited to bodily injury, disability, or death. By using the Platform to arrange and participate in Matches, you freely accept these risks. MTCHMKR acts solely as an intermediary and is not responsible for any injury, disability, or death arising from your participation in any Match.
8.6 Accessibility
MTCHMKR is not responsible for the physical accessibility of any Venue listed on the Platform. It is the sole responsibility of the Venue operator to ensure their premises are accessible. You are advised to contact the Venue directly to confirm accessibility arrangements prior to attending.
Section 09
9.1 Leaderboards
The Platform publishes leaderboards reflecting player performance based on match results. Any attempt to manipulate your leaderboard position, including through collusion, false result submission, or any other dishonest means, is a serious breach of this Agreement and will result in account suspension and removal from all leaderboards.
9.2 AI Progress Assessments
The Platform may provide AI-generated progress assessments based on your match history. These are provided for informational and motivational purposes only and do not constitute professional coaching advice. You should not rely on them as a substitute for professional coaching or instruction.
Section 10
10.1 Free Access
The Platform is free to download and register on. Basic features including Friendly Match arrangement, score recording, and community features are provided at no cost.
10.2 Tournament Entry Fees & Prize Distribution
Certain Tournaments may require an entry fee and may include a prize fund. All fees are processed through Stripe. By entering a fee-paying Tournament, you authorise MTCHMKR to debit the applicable entry fee from your chosen payment method. Prize funds are distributed to winners following verification of results. MTCHMKR charges a platform fee on Tournament transactions, which will be clearly communicated at the time of entry.
10.3 Third-Party Payment Processing
All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. By making or receiving any payment through the Platform, you agree to Stripe's terms of service (available at stripe.com). MTCHMKR is not liable for any issue arising from Stripe's processing of your payment, including delays, failures, or errors.
10.4 Refunds
Tournament entry fees are non-refundable once a Tournament has commenced. If a Tournament is cancelled by the organiser before commencement, MTCHMKR will use reasonable endeavours to ensure that entry fees are returned to participants. MTCHMKR does not accept liability for any delay in refund processing caused by third-party payment processors.
10.5 Venue & Table Fees
Any table fees, booking fees, or other charges levied by a Venue are entirely the responsibility of the Host and are not collected or managed by MTCHMKR.
10.6 Currency
All prices and fees on the Platform are denominated in Great British Pounds Sterling (GBP). If you identify any reference to other currencies within the Platform, please report it to support@mtchmkr.co.uk.
Section 11
11.1 MTCHMKR's IP
All intellectual property rights in the Platform — including its software, design, branding, trademarks, logos, text, graphics, and related technology — are owned by or licensed to MTCHMKR LTD. Nothing in this Agreement transfers any intellectual property rights to you. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Platform for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with this Agreement.
11.2 User Content
You retain ownership of any Content you submit to the Platform. By submitting Content, you grant MTCHMKR a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and display that Content for the purposes of operating, improving, and promoting the Platform, for as long as the Content remains on the Platform or is reasonably required for Platform operations.
11.3 Restrictions
You must not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, or publicly display any part of the Platform or its content without our prior written consent, except as expressly permitted by this Agreement.
Section 12
12.1 Personal Data
MTCHMKR processes personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Full details are set out in our Privacy Policy, available at mtchmkr.co.uk/privacy, which is incorporated into this Agreement by reference.
12.2 Push Notifications
By registering and enabling push notifications on your device, you consent to receiving notifications from the Platform relating to match invitations, acceptances, score submissions, tournament updates, and other Platform activity. You can manage notification preferences through your device settings at any time. MTCHMKR is not liable for failure of push notification delivery arising from device settings, network conditions, or operating system restrictions.
12.3 Location Data
The Platform may request access to your device's location data in order to display relevant Venues and suggest nearby match opportunities. You can revoke location access at any time through your device settings, though this may limit certain Platform functionality.
Section 13
Certain features of the Platform depend upon third-party service providers, including Stripe (payment processing), Apple (iOS App Store), and Google (Play Store and mapping services). Your use of those services is subject to the terms and conditions of the relevant provider. MTCHMKR is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of any third-party service. Third-party links or integrations accessible through the Platform are provided for convenience only and do not constitute an endorsement by MTCHMKR of those third parties.
Section 14
14.1 Termination by You
You may close your Account at any time by contacting us at support@mtchmkr.co.uk. Upon closure, your access to the Platform will be revoked. Match history and results data may be retained by MTCHMKR for a reasonable period in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable legal obligations.
14.2 Termination by MTCHMKR
MTCHMKR reserves the right, in its sole discretion and without notice, to suspend or permanently terminate your Account if we determine that you have:
14.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination of your Account, your licence to use the Platform ceases immediately. Clauses that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply, including those relating to intellectual property, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law.
Section 15
15.1 Platform Provided As Is
The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranty of any kind. MTCHMKR makes no representation or warranty that the Platform will meet your requirements, be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any defects will be corrected. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, MTCHMKR disclaims all warranties, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
15.2 No Liability for User Content
MTCHMKR is not responsible for and does not endorse any Content submitted by users. We do not verify the accuracy of any match requests, result submissions, player profiles, or Venue information. You agree not to hold MTCHMKR responsible for any damage or loss arising from reliance on Content posted by other users.
15.3 Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, MTCHMKR's total aggregate liability to you will not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees paid by you to MTCHMKR in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) fifty pounds (£50).
15.4 Excluded Losses
In no event will MTCHMKR be liable for any: (i) loss of profits; (ii) loss of revenue; (iii) loss of business; (iv) loss of data; (v) indirect, special, or consequential loss; or (vi) physical injury or property damage, except to the extent that such liability cannot be excluded by applicable law.
15.5 Non-Excludable Liability
Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits MTCHMKR's liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MTCHMKR LTD, its directors, employees, agents, and shareholders from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:

17.1 Changes to the Platform
MTCHMKR reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or aspect of the Platform at any time, with or without notice. We will endeavour to give reasonable notice of material changes where practicable, but this is not guaranteed.
17.2 Changes to this Agreement
MTCHMKR may update this Agreement from time to time. The most current version will always be available at mtchmkr.co.uk/terms. Where changes are material, we will notify you via the Platform or by email. Your continued use of the Platform after notification constitutes your acceptance of the updated Agreement.
17.3 Corporate Changes
MTCHMKR reserves the right to sell, transfer, or restructure the business or any part of it at any time without prior notification to users. In the event of such a transaction, this Agreement and your Account may be transferred to the acquiring entity, and you will be notified of any changes that affect your rights.
Section 18
18.1 Entire Agreement
This Agreement, together with our Privacy Policy and any additional terms applicable to specific features, constitutes the entire agreement between you and MTCHMKR with respect to the Platform and supersedes all prior agreements, representations, and understandings.
18.2 Severability
If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
18.3 Waiver
MTCHMKR's failure to enforce any right or provision will not be deemed a waiver of such right or provision. Any waiver will only be effective if given in writing and signed by an authorised representative of MTCHMKR.
18.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under this Agreement without our prior written consent. MTCHMKR may assign or transfer its rights and obligations without restriction.

18.6 Governing Law & Jurisdiction
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. You and MTCHMKR each agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales for the resolution of any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Agreement or your use of the Platform.
